Privacy, Surveillance and Controls

This was our final lecture for this subject, it was upsetting. No longer will I fall asleep to the classical music played before the start but then be woken up by Ted’s voice. We learned about privacy, surveillance and controls. Basically how everything we do is being watched by someone. Not even incognito mode can save you now.

Most of us do know that we are being spied on, we just choose to ignore the google home listing to every conversation we have. It’s the trade off for all our modern conveniences. We have chosen to live in a ‘Big Brother’ like society so we can tell our house to turn the lights off.

Social media companies know more about us through sifting through our information than our closest friends. It’s kinda crazy. But bcm 112 have left me in the same spot i started, scared and confused.
